Those are trim pots. They usually control some part of the circuit. In the carbon copy mini above they control the parameters of the modulation effect to save space on the top of it. On some fuzz pedals they control the bias current to the transistors, so sometimes they are not meant to be adjusted unless you really know what you are doing. That is probably it. I was thinking it might look like a bias adjustment. I was just amused that it says don't even think about it next to them.

I opened up the Witch Burner too. It is very simple compared to all the Caroline pedals. The board is less than half the size and has probably less than half the components. It is built around the jrc 4558d chip too.

It's alive! The amp worked on the first try. And its loud as heck for only 5 watts. Total time spent looking and diagrams and soldering it was about 10 hours, but I had an different output transformer than the kit so I had to figure out how to mount it and make the right connections. I fired it up for 2 minute intervals one tube at a time and took voltage measurements like the instructions said and everything was normal so I started rocking out! I was thinking about building a 12 watt after this but man I don't even feel the need to anymore because this thing roars. I ordered a cabinet on Ebay, then I stained it and clear coated it with polyurethane. And I got the yellow light cover to boot. So now it's really done. Ta da my own amp head from scratch. There is only one control for the volume, so I just plug it into my favorite guitar, pedals, and speakers and let her rip.

They are practically giving them away. Do any of you guys use a power supply for your pedals or are you just using a power strip, with them all pluged into wall warts? I'm starting to get a nice collection of pedals but they are eating up my outlets.

I'm still using one spot daisy chains and a power strip, but am looking to get an iso brick.

I use daisy chain and isolated power supplies and I don't find them too different unless you have a specific pedal that is particularly quirky. One spots with daisy chains work well for most gear and that's what I have on my guitar board. I use the one spot cs12 on my bass guitar board because it has lots of options like higher current for digital pedals and 12v or 18v outputs for higher headroom like some overdrive or compressorsbenwfir from, for example.

wow ben! that looks great, nice work. dove-tails? nice work. I'm not skilled with the joinery 😁 I ordered it. I did sand it, stain, and clear coat it but I didn't make it.

Is their that much of a difference between these and the distortions that can. Come from them? The The first one is an old school fuzz circuit like Jimi Hendrix used. The middle one is a hard rock distortion that could be used on stuff like ACDC or Steve Vai. The right one is a delay pedal so it cleanly repeats whatever you play, sush as in U2's "Where the Streets Have No Names"
