I wish I would have kept collecting nos tubes. These things are getting pricey, well, pricier. I'm still looking to stockpile a few more. I want a few 5751s to try. They are only going to keep going up in price. I might as well just do it.

Egnater Tweaker 15W amp has a switch for 230V Euro power and 110V for the Americas 😎 f yeah. They're 599 for just the head new but Sweetwater has them for 499 today - with the speaker cabinet which is usually 350 more. Cyber Monday'd they discontinued the cabinet and the amp didn't get here in time. I had to tell them to cancel the order |

He threw in a free 12at7 of some sort for the effects loop too. |

The 5751s sound fantastic in the V1 and PI positions and I'm running a 6201 triple mica in the effects loop. I tried pretty much every other tube that would fit in the V2 position and there are a few that sound awesome. This old Tru-Vac 12ax7 that doesn't test quite nos, but it is really warm and harmonic, I like it a lot. The other tung sol 5751 is probably what I'll stick with, for now. I also tried several 12at7s and they sound good, too. Fuzzy and vintage, but they are low enough gain that they only work when the gain in the amp is between 8 and dimed. The 6201 and 6679 did not work at all in v2. This has been fun. I want to try more. Maybe I'll get another amp to experiment with...  |
