all i have is an acoustic guitar for another few weeks. its been good to get back to basics. this is a half truth if my laptop and associates count. I plugged in the scarlett audio interface, the USB midi keyboard, and the condenser mic, which I all flew with because my guits and amps are still somewhere on a boat may jah have mercy on me, so I actually recorded a demo today of a song I sketched like 15 years ago and I feel over the moon about it.

So, I have this one 5965 that I bought when I thought I wanted to roll tubes in the micro terror. That never happened, but I have an assortment of 12at7s as a result and this one sounds awesome in v2(dirty channel) with 5751s in v1 and the PI.

ooh boy i am in the mood. New goal: have a double album of demos by years end. maybe a quad. I just recorded number 3 since we moved and i have another couple already. the reggae song i wrote a few years ago during the Arab spring is going to be the challenging one because i have to hunt down the two or so recordings of the band doing it where i actually nailed the bass line...
P.S. The Arab Spring was a decade ago. Where does the time go...

Record store guy has this old amp along with a mesa boogie cab. The cab is a single 400w 15" and appears to be a bass cab. The amp is what I'm curious about. It's a Dukane 1U460A that someone has modified with two 1/4 jacks, one in front and one in back. The three spots on the far left have jumpers or something in them instead of what's in these photos. Transformers? The three preamp tubes on the left that should be 12ax7s also have something in them that aren't tubes. So, my assumption is that the mic inputs no longer function and it serves solely as an instrument amp. The limited info I'm finding says it can get dark and growly with guitar when pushed to breakup and is good for harmonicas too. It has been compared to an old fender bassman, so I'm even more curious. The preamp tubes are 1x 12ax7 and 2x 12au7. It has 2x 6L6gc power tubes and a rectifier tube. My assumption is it has around 60w of output given the power tubes. My concerns are that I have no idea what all has been done to it and have no way of fixing any potential issues. There could be safety issues as a result. Guy also replaced the power tubes and I don't know if it needs biased. There is also the question of how much wattage it is actually putting out. He wants $300 for the amp and cab. He also has the original tubes he replaced included and one of the 12au7s is a MIGB Mullard. That could be worth a pretty penny alone. It don't want the cab. It's massive and on wheels and heavy. Here's a reverb listing that sold for one that has all the tubes and the three things on the far left that I'm not sure what they are. Re power tubes: probably more like 40 or 50 watts. Even the mighty quad in a Fender Twin Reverb puts out only 85w
