I have this master docuent of bascially ever thing ive ever written. When i would move i would gather all the scrap papers and notes, and one day i got wise and put them all on the computer, and now I am finally going through it. apparently, i wrote a lot of raps in the 2000s - George W Bush terrorism era. Its making me hype all over again and i feel the urge to record them so a new project has appeared....

Record store guy has this old amp along with a mesa boogie cab. The cab is a single 400w 15" and appears to be a bass cab. The amp is what I'm curious about. It's a Dukane 1U460A that someone has modified with two 1/4 jacks, one in front and one in back. The three spots on the far left have jumpers or something in them instead of what's in these photos. Transformers? The three preamp tubes on the left that should be 12ax7s also have something in them that aren't tubes. So, my assumption is that the mic inputs no longer function and it serves solely as an instrument amp. The limited info I'm finding says it can get dark and growly with guitar when pushed to breakup and is good for harmonicas too. It has been compared to an old fender bassman, so I'm even more curious. The preamp tubes are 1x 12ax7 and 2x 12au7. It has 2x 6L6gc power tubes and a rectifier tube. My assumption is it around 60w of output given the power tubes. My concerns are that I have no idea what all has been done to it and have no way of fixing any potential issues. There could be safety issues as a result. Guy also replaced the power tubes and I don't know if it needs biased. There is also the question of how much wattage it is actually putting out. He wants $300 for the amp and cab. He also has the original tubes he replaced included and one of the 12au7s is a MIGB Mullard. That could be worth a pretty penny alone. It don't want the cab. It's massive and on wheels and heavy. Here's a reverb listing that sold for one that has all the tubes and the three things on the far left that I'm not sure what they are. Vintage Dukane 1U460A 1950/60's Tube Amplifier Mic Guitar Harmonica Amp reverb.com/item/3097552-vintage-dukane-1u460a-1950-60-s-tube-amplifier-mic-guitar-harmonica-amp?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=3097552Got pics of the modded one? Sold. Oh well. I didn't need it sitting around.

Plugged in a 120v power strip with an adapter. Breaker blew. Was rushed and plugged in my M-Audio speakers without flipping the switches to 220v. Blew both fuses. Rock and roll. Thank jah for circuit protection or I'd be one sad dude.

Well i blew one of the monitors. It keeps nuking fuses when i turn it on. One works still at both voltages so I got that going for me. I need to run them at 220 though because I tried it with the voltage dropping transformer and there is a prominent hum from the tranny that is unacceptable. I was able to take the amp out of the back of the enclosure and I think I can replace the power capacitors which I hope will fix it. So now it's time to get an EU spec soldering iron and find me some 6800uf caps rated for 50 volts or better.

Behringher just put huge price drops on their modular systems. 2999$ to 1599$ for the system 55 and 2499$ to 999$ for the system 35. I don't think I can deny my modular needs much longer.
My wife would have a fit if I had one of these monster systems in the house.
My son would be in heaven. This is his current setup.

www.perfectcircuit.com/gfi-duophony.htmlThis is a cool little pedal for parallel processing. I've never experimented much with an idea like this where you are flipping back and forth between two fx chains. Doubt I will be buying this but I does inspire some ideas. I guess in theory you could do this with two mono signals and a stereo panning pedal assuming it had a LFO.

I should have ponied up instead of trying to roll with a cheap one.

Lady showed me a picture on marketplace last night and, not knowing what they were, asked if we wanted them. They were road cases! I got all three for $60! I just wanted the pedalboard case. I might see if I can trade the othrr two or just the big one. I'm not sure where I'm going to put them.
