I'd like to note that I haven't referenced a single religious belief in this thread. YOU guys keep tying my religion to me. It has little to no bearing on my thoughts on abortion. I considered myself pro-choice from like 5th grade until recently.

I don't really get that a Christian would have objections to abortion for religious reasons. The Bible is for it under the right circumstances and I would think that God could do the same thing with the soul that he does when there is a miscarriage. Now that I think about it, isn't a miscarriage just god performing an abortion?

There were a lot of ways to describe my freshman year college roommate. One way is that he tried too hard to get laughs and thought he was funnier than he actually was. One day the phone rang and he answered all energetic like this:

I don't want to get into a debate about at which point a fetus has the same rights as a person because I don't think it matters all that much but I can't accept the idea that woman somehow loses some of her autonomy over her body once she becomes pregnant.

I can't say for 100% but I'm pretty sure if abortion was not legal and I got pregnant being a victim of rape, I would seek an illegal abortion. Like being raped isn't enough weight, now you gotta carry a child and seriously be reminded everyday?

Haven't men historically tried to control women enough already? At least in the US, these decisions always seem to be made by older white guys. Or you get like what happened in D.C. the other day with the Teen MAGA Hats - a bunch of teenagers from an all boys religious school whose religion forbids them to even have sex until marriage marching against a woman's right to choose. wtf?

I think conservative religious white people get all bent out of shape as well because they see the changing (browning) demographics and think that fewer white babies will speed up their dwindling numbers to eventually becoming an ethnic minority (oh, the horror) in the US.
