You see the exposed rebar on the roof look all over Peru as well. Even on finished buildings.

I never could figure if there was a reason for leaving it like that. Does it give builders a starting point if in the future the owner wants to build up? Is leaving it just laziness? Obviously I know nothing about building.

![](https://i.imgur.com/qVs58EM.jpeg) I got a radon meter for the driveway level. Some of the readings are pretty high so I'm making sure to keep it ventilated. 15 bq m^3 is standard background level and over 100 is when to start mitigating and 300 is the danger zone. I'm averaging 50ish but I had one day peak of 254.

Thought Radon was only a north east USA thing
We had one installed in our basement

I don't know what units of measurement you're using but mitigation is required for readings above 4 picocuries here.

biquerels per cubic meter to picocuries per liter is about 99 to 2.7, so 4 pci/l is abut 148 Bq/m^3

My meter gives me readings of running average, 7 days avg. and daily. I do not want lung cancer. Because we are close to a volcano, it is unavoidable so I am ventilating as best as I can and the meter gives me the data I need to not freak out...

We have it in Colorado too, the crawl space portion of our basement has plastic covering and vents to a fan in the attic for “mitigation”

I bought my condo 5 year ago this week. I think I moved in July 1. No regrets this fucker has gone up about 50%. Keeping my payment below an apartment rental rate.
Flip side is I'm about priced out of any homes in town and this place isn't that great.
Can't complain but you would think in this time I could have improved the place more. I'm going to do some big upgrades in the next 12 months

A house down the street from us just sold for 140K more than what we paid for. The house is nice but the basement was unfinished. We aren't looking to see but it's good to know. The house 4 doors down from us just got put on the market and they are asking for 170k more than what we paid for our home. Makes us feel whenever we decide to move on, we could get a pretty profit on it!

We’re having an agent come out and give us an idea what we’ll get for our place. I’m super excited to move but we have a 2.5% interest rate so that’s going to suck to lose.
