My office building isn't allowing visitors now. Two members of the Assembly have tested positive.

what's rowdy is pretty much no one from any generation has experienced what we are and are about to work through as a country, absolutely unprecedented, wild...

Didn't hear it directly, and I'll be talking about it with my wife and in-laws when they get back from shopping, but a neighbor told me the President just declared that Peru is shut down. Borders are closed, nobody in or out. Same for travelling domestically. People are confined to their homes except for food shopping.
Wonder how that'll play, since in Peru, and particularly Lima, there are high levels of informality (so you can't just tell people not to show up to work); low incomes/savings, which means a lot of people need to be out there working day-to-day; and low level of compliance to authority, so quarantines might not be respected.
Wondering if I should bother showing up super early for a session tomorrow, followed by two meetings later in the morning and then the afternoon. Maybe I'll just sleep in.
Wondering if things are going to go from fucked to hitting the fan.
Only 71 confirmed cases here, no deaths, in a population of around 30 million. Just heard that some of the measures being taken in the states right now may be too late, because once it gets out to enough people it's gonna spread no matter what. I guess I should be optimistic that the President here is taking big steps before it gets too bad. We shall see.

It was quiet with a weird vibe, now both are closed after last night so I guess they are pissed at people like me.

Indiana and Kentucky have announced all bars and restaurants closed. My lady manages a restaurant. We will be fine, but she is freaking out about all her employees who live paycheck to paycheck. This is crazy. I'm kind of freaking out too.
