Until last night my ears were virginal. I didn't listen to the stream from last night, but instead to about an hour during the second set of one of the recently posted videos.
Competent, but not face melting in any way. Agreeable, but I can't remember any of the songs or jams. Maybe that would change after a few more listens. That might happen if I saw them live, which I'd probably do if convenient, but can't say I'm sure if I'd even devote the time to hearing recordings or watching streams. Better to my ears than some of the other Tier 3 and below bands, but still mediocre.
I'll probably give them another listen sometime down the road when I can't think of anything else I want to hear in the moment and give them another chance to impress me. I wouldn't put them on any kind of short list to leap to Tier 1 in a post-Phish scene, like Phish did just before and after Jerry died, but it's good to see that people are into them, that they're having some success, and are playing a part in keeping the jam scene from becoming obsolete.
