So... some of the lyrics are pretty misogynistic, right? That is my biggest criticism of his music. I know, different time etc and the whole groupie rock band schtic. But yeah.

That, plus he was pretty much an asshole. Probably one of the reasons why he had a lot of turnover in his bands over the years.

This one might be my favorite one. It has Ruth on the zylophone(badass), Napoleon on flute and vocals(love it), and the guitar solo rips. It's also about aliens, so come on.

I rarely listen to him anymore and can definitely find some of his stuff too Zappa-y. But he rips and certainly does his own unique thing.

Frank liked that Inca Roads solo so much he spliced it in a couple of years later on the studio version of the song for One Size Fits All. The Helsinki show I believe also has the first Whipping Post mention and a sped up arrangement for Village of the Sun (compared to the slower Roxy version). The only fault is the Dupree's Paradise is nowhere near as good as other versions from the same tour, but still a great show overall, otherwise he wouldn't have released it as part of the series. Oh, and Ruthie Ruthie. Love her.

Some guys got bounced for drug use, which was a big no-no for Zappa. Mid-70's he wanted some younger players in the band to counter his then old for rock age of being in his mid-30's. Other guys, like Belew, got picked up by other artists and proably got more $ in the process. And then I bet he just liked to mix things up, use different people for different projects, etc..

Apostrophe and overnight sensation.
I don't know.
I'm contemplating how watermelon in Easter hay makes me feel right now. Am I happy or sad, i don't know.
