I heard on NPR this morning that trans people are twice as likely to join the military than non-trans people. It sounds like this is a big deal.

Hey, I just paid 135 for these yesterday and immediately achieved platinum psycho bunny status and they sent me $50 off so I also got a 300 dollar jacket for only 160( it was already on sale). They got 5 zipper pockets on the fancy sweat pants!!! Jacket is all zipper pockets as well!
I will let you know when we get the Telescope. so many options so we are taking our time with it!

I hear you and I agree with you (expect for the 10,000. There's no way.) Obviously my opinion is shaped by my experience. The military sucks. It sucks for whites, blacks, latinos, men, women, straight, gay... and I wasn't in any wars! And it ain't full of "heroes" doing heroic shit I assure you. There's a whole lot of scumbags, criminals, degenerates, psychos and fucking losers in all branches. Why any member of the trans community would VOLUNTEER to be a part of it is beyond me. I think my reaction was based mostly on the "burning of political capital". There is no such thing anymore. Do you think Biden ran this past McConnell? We didn't pass this on the agreement that we would do something for them. Mitch McConnell has made political capital non-existent. His game is fuck you because I can, even if it helps my own constituents. If the last 4 years didn't convince D's that this is now how the game works I don't know what will. Sadly we have Sinema and Manchin already saying no the the filibuster override and Mitch is going to waste the bulk of the 2 years we actually have control of both chambers. I sent Joe an email and asked him to support removing the filibuster. Last time I emailed him about taking action to remove the state legislator who participated in the riot, and he was arrested the next day. I can't say I'm that optimistic about this one though. |

I didn't see until after I posted that that McConnell caved and at least the Senate can form their committees and get to the business of deadlocking on every bill possible(except for the ones our own side won't vote for).

Considering there are already Conservative, Green, Socialist, Libertarian, etc, etc, Parties already in existence, what part of the political spectrum do you feel is not being represented? It sounds like your issue is more with the American electorate exercising their freedom of choice to primarily support and vote for the Democratic and Republican parties. We have an election coming up here in April. If none do, the top two finishers will have a run off election in June. Everyone gets to vote for whoever they want/their first choice in April. A lot of people will be voting more against one of the candidates than for the other. Kind of like voting for Hilary because she was less awful than Trump and though far from perfect (who is?) at least was more in line with voters who were at least Center-Left. Adult reality in Democracy. You can´t always get what you want. Ask a thousand people here if they believe having more than two parites is some kind of magic bullet that solves problems or makes the system any better and all thousand of them will laugh at the thought. Can you give an example where having more than two parties resulted in anything other than the status quo? That statement makes no sense to me. For all the parties/candidates they have here, it´s still the status quo. |
