I honestly don't remember. He is so omnipresent that I don't know if I saw ads or social media blasts or read an article, etc... Tons of commercials though, mostly about Harris giving trans inmates free sex changes. If that is what sways your vote, you might be a moron.

Is anyone else getting ready to possible alienate friends or family? Honestly interested in how people feel about it. I feel like extremism has been allowed to thrive because we haven't attached a social cost to it and it's far past time to do that. None of us would share a meal with neo nazis or klan members and I don't think Trump voters are really any different at this point.

I do not think being completely ignorant is the same as being a neo Nazi.. most trump supporters are just stupid and clinging to a back asswards way of thinking. Yes. Some of them are legit racist and I would not want to have them around. But most are just victims of propaganda. Show them compassion more than hatred and be an example of what it is you would like them to know about your political preferences. Otherwise you are just furthering the division and giving them more to hate.

OK probably painting with too broad a brush but there are lot of people(my parents included) who don't deserve an ignorance pass. These people are college educated and have all the skills and knowledge to be able to sort out what is and isn't reliable information. Subdued racism is a factor. Identity politics and tribalism is a big factor. I think it's time to tell these people that we need them to take a hard look in the mirror and if they are unwilling to do that, its going to affect our relationships.

Fucking A my dad has a masters in library science. His undergrad work was in pysch. If anyone should be able to suss out propaganda and confront confirmations bias, it's him. But he still gets all his bullshit from right wing memes. I don't know how to confront that.

My neighbor who I just had the blow out with, this year threw up his trumptardness...other neighbor across the way who gave me cloans last year is a trumpntsrd for som reason
I think mainly for.guns...he loves guns and has probably a militias worth
Taking the blow out of the equation, we were neighborly , and gun guy hired Lil dude to do various easy odds n ends yard work jobs over the summer
Lil dude was bummed to see that across the way neighbor is a Trump tard and said just that lol
I'm with taco and dambimal in this regard...the extreme trumptardism, absolutely fuxk them...the ones in the middle or brain washed...fuckin eh...why?

I seen a lot of messages lately that say something to the effect of…
“If you’re at a rally and Nazis are there, and no one is upset or making them leave…. You are at a Nazi rally.”
I agree with this.
….but my dad is full on Trump and has always been Republican, he’ll say it’s about taxes and the economy… but shit dude… that’s a lot of stuff to ignore

I'd add that if one supports the Nazis and their leader while still claiming that they themselves aren't a Nazi just makes them a Nazi sympathizer - which isn't a good look, esp. for any American whose father, grandfather, etc. actually risked their life at the behest of their country to defeat Nazism.
There should come a Cheney like point (though I think Liz and her dad are more interested in setting her up as a future leader in a post-Trump GOP than for any altruistic reasons) where Republicans decide that focusing on taxes and the economy are one thing, but supporting fascism is another. Your taxes are already relatively low, both historically and presently compared to many, and no president has that much control of the economy. Do you really support autocracy/theocracy? And from such an obvious clown grifter/failure who so obviously has never given a shit about you, America, or Americans, and is only interested in enriching himself?

I know it's not popular here but I do my best to respect someone's choice to vote against what they believe about democrats. The democratic party is the only party that aligns with some of my fundamental views. It's hard for me to not view conservative ideals and rhetoric as non starters and some of the more extreme positions I see expressed truly are nonstarters.
As long as the wacky and dangerous nonstarters are not something a person expresses and they don't demonize me to my face I'm not going to hate them or cut them out of my life.
A lot of folks get hung up on single issues for various personal reasons. Or a few issues that define their political position and then they accept the baggage that comes along with supporting the one or few they feel strongly about. Add the pressure to be political and support a party platform without any question because it's politically weak not to, and you're captured.
Ive just found most folks that alienate family and friends in thier life because of politics end up losing except when that person was already insulting and personal about politics.

all black guys are thugs'd are you really saying that me labeling trump voters as racists is the same as labeling black people as criminals? I'm just being snarky I guess. You said it better: "perhaps I am painting with too broad of a brush" is what I mean.
