It's not difficult. Earlier I was insulted for being able to support myself while acting like a child and enjoying acid and bikes. We all have are own versions of what it means to be successful. If enjoying acid and bikes is cool, I'm Miles Davis ::wassup head nod::

I'm more scanning headlines than reading articles, but what's up with all the major Dems (Obama, Biden, Harris) wishing Trump well when he takes office? Up until he won it was all 'Trump, the fascist, is the greatest existential threat to Democracy since sliced bread.' And now they're acting like he's just your average, run of the mill President-elect who they might have some differences with but are confident that he's got the best interests of the country at heart. Was that all just campaign hyperbole? They trying to stay off his enemies list? Whatever the reason, this folding faster than (fill in your favorite metaphor) is bullshit and completely uninspiring.

They're approaching things with civility because it is the only way to potentially find common ground with the party that owns all components of the fed government right now

I would eat all the space after these last couple days.
A lot of happy folks at work yesterday. Wanted to scream. I didnāt. I was cool. Quiet, but cool. No one talks politics at work really, so itās never really a thing. But I probably would have had a smile on and a spring in my step if the outcome was reversed. Still, fuck em all!

I guess it was cool voting in the final American election. If this is the best we can do with democracy, maybe it deserves to die.

They're approaching things with civility because it is the only way to potentially find common ground with the party that owns all components of the fed government right now I get that. They're politicians. They generally know when and how to be diplomatic. I'd imagine a big factor is that these 'best wishes for success' are from a former President, soon to be former President, and someone who's probably looking for a soft landing in the private sector instead of announcing that she's running again in '28, and not (afaik) from anyone with a political future. Not that I'd want to watch that movie, but it'd be ironic if the Trump DOJ charged Harris with crimes and the only way for her to keep out of jail would be to run and win in '28. dpb nailed it. The Dems entire campaign was 'these are uncivil people.' Trump and the GOP have clearly signaled that they weren't at all interested in finding common ground even when they only held the House (and SCOTUS). Their prior refusal to pass immigration reform makes them look like legitimate political geniuses now - esp. with their base. Now that they're likely to control it all and not need to compromise on much, if anything, why would anyone think they're going to go back on their attitude and suddenly look for common ground or to govern with civility after campaigning the way the did? They're either completely uninterested in civility or believe that they're perfectly civil and it's the evil baby trafficking, adrenochrome boofing, commie radical leftists who condone illegal immigrants eating pets who are the actual uncivil people. When confronted by a known rabid dog I don't expect it to change it's stripes because it just got a meaty bone. Their diplomatic response makes them look weak in the eyes of MAGA and probably with some in their own party who are looking for their leaders to actually lead instead of wish the fascists good luck with their Project 2025 administration they were just warning everyone about. I'm not saying they should be like classless Trump when he lost and not participate in transition, helicopter out before the inauguration, and leave a mess behind in the White House. I'm just thinking they could've diplomatically conceded/congratulated without wishing the fascists success in their endeavors. It makes them look like people who don't actually believe what and the seriousness of what they were just trying to sell. This is why the Dems are losers. They bring an unsharpened popsicle stick to an automatic assault rifle fight and the gang leaders wish best of luck to the leader of the gang that just shot them up like Sonny Corleone at the tollbooth. I hope they fail. Miserably. I hope they run the govt. with the same competence they've shown in the House since they initiated booting Kevin McCarthy. I hope the turn on each other and destroy themselves from within. Just, like, you know, uh, my observation, and, uh, opinion, man.

"President-elect Trump picked up a larger portion of voters under 30 than any Republican presidential candidate since 2008, according to NBC News exit polling, improving with both young men and young women.
Shows and personalities that hosted Trump on their programs during the campaign ā comprise a whoās who of the most influential shows among young American men.
And in an election in which his campaign specifically courted that demographic, the shoutout hinted at what has so far been borne out in exit polling data."
