I guess it was cool voting in the final American election. If this is the best we can do with democracy, maybe it deserves to die. i'd bet my life savings that you'll be able to vote in the 2026 midterms, 2028 election, and beyond. dems were saying the same shit in 2017 after Trump got elected. |

Something that amazes me is the reporting on how the Trump campaign didn't focus on get out the vote efforts and instead diverted that money to setting up lawyers in all the states they were thinking they were gonna have to contest. They were fully expecting to lose at the polls. And they still kicked ass...
I'm guessing the strategy was that Trump was his own best get out the vote proselytizer and it was better to have him do interviewers than pay randoms to knock on doors. Bet the lawyers are disappointed at the loss of all those billable hours.

My daughter is 14. Smart as hell. Honor Society, straight A's. 2nd year in model UN.
We had a long talk last night. She feels bad for people who voted against their own interests because they are "not educated." A theory she arrived at on her own.
I told her if I was young, smart person like her, I'd probably look into living somewhere other than America when she's old enough.

So much doom and gloom. I'm sure it's going to suck in a lot of ways. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Both Kennedy and musk are lunatics but also environmentalists. Maybe they will have a positive effect. Kennedy has a history of fighting against large corporations and says he will fight the food industry. As much as everything sucks it is possible some positive with come out of the shit show too.
Maybe..... Hopefully..... Ok, I dunno. But I'm not going to let this shit ruin my mood. It is what it is. The lesser of two evils was still shitty. Instead of a shit sandwich we get a double shit sandwich. Some people would consider that a free extra patty.
