I made a little progress today. I should have something that is shaped like a boat soon. "Going 3D" in boat building jargon.

So I decided that the next step is going to require a tablesaw to do properly and neatly. Mine is almost ready to fire back up but the bolts that hold the the fence rail got too rusty to use so that has been on the back burner. I called to get spare bolts today and they were 7 dollars a piece (need 6) and shipping was 17 dollars. The lock washers and nuts that go on the bolts were 4 dollars and 9.50! I said damn the hardware pack for the whole machine is 120. Luckily I found the bolts which are really the important part, on an industrial parts website with free shipping and 6 bucks a piece but still. That's some expensive hardware. Hopefully I can use generic washers and nuts.

Lol, the machine has been sitting for years since I moved it and all the hardware is fine except for these 6 special bolts that you can't buy at home depot.

Try McMaster Carr if you don't have a local bolt house

Now I'm bummed that I have to wait until these damn bolts come to do anything but I'm happy that the saw should be good to go and that should open up a lot of options and make life a lot easier. I might even be able to make a fancy hollow mast.

Nice. I noticed he's not only wearing a life jacket, but one that matches with the boat. That's tight.

If the boat doesn’t work out, that might be a race car bed.
