i vaguely remember seeing foghat and aerosmith for nothing prolly '84 You're taking me back. Only time I saw Aerosmith they sucked. They were so fucked up they'd have to stop and restart songs. Friend of mine had a chance to audition for Foghat around that time but didn't bother because word was they kept blaming the revolving door bass players for their lack of success and they wound up calling it quits a few months later.

My first concert, Van Halen, was $8.
Thought $10 for the baseball jersey tee shirt was absolutely outrageous

I always kind of felt a bit ripped off because a lot of the bands I was interested in seeing as a teenager were well past their prime by the time I was old enough to see them. By the time they'd rebounded and gotten their shit together they were doing something almost completely different from what made me like them in the first place so I was more into discovering new or newer bands. Aerosmith is the perfect example. For all I know their shows were a lot better once they went in a more pop direction, but they were terrible in those last years with Joe Perry and the years after with the replacements for him and Brad Whitford (who I'll say is the better guitarist over Perry).

White tee shirt with the black or dark blue elbow length sleeves that fell apart after a half dozen washings? Exactly. Half dozen is stretching it. But they were MUST HAVES weren't they.

Umphrey's Milwaukee shows were $20 when I first started seeing them and they used to give out tons of free tickets too. I remember when I saw them in South Bend in 2009 and tickets were $45, I was feeling the cash grab hard then. It is certainly insane what they have become now.
They are advertising the Dead Sphere shows on electronic billboards all around the highways surrounding downtown Chicago.

I'm seeing 24 shows, not 14. Gen. Admin or most expensive unobstructed seat for every night would set you back just under $9.5k.

Not even the ticket price, just the coming back in under a year. Money talks tho. I believe the narrative was always that it was going to be their final "Tour" as dead N co. I think there was always dot connecting that could have been done to figure this out. Multiple members had said before, during and after last years tour that there were still plans to play not tour. They're also coming up on 60 years of the Grateful Dead which is rumored to be the final reunion of the remaining Dead members and a possible retirement from playing for the majority, if not all of the original 4. I would say by the fall there will be a major GDF60 announcement, I predict, NYC, Chicago, LA, and SF to finish where it all began. start saving now.
