Lifelong member of FKT and I'm working on changing that. Been hitting the gym for basketball fairly regularly, trying to eat less and healthier options. Checked my weight a few weeks ago and it was one of the highest it's ever been, since then I'm down 5 lbs but I'm looking to stay consistent and get in shape.
Any helpful tips for nutrition and meal planning? Workouts that help kickstart your metabolism? I've heard weight training is really good but don't really know where to start, I've just always been stronk. Right now I'd say I get 3-5 days cardio a week from running around shooting hoops and want to add to that routine.

Personally use the beach bodi app , n like most of everything I've done on their
Good mix between weight curio and plyo training
Once this excursion is in the books , no sweets or beer for a month and really dialing in the diet

I go up and down kind of dramatically.
When I'm fully committed to avoiding carbs, after a certain point the shit just falls off. Maybe 6 weeks in. Even as a 50 something year old. And I walk A LOT at work. Even still. And just toss around light weights.
Two years ago I got down to 215. And I'm a "bigger dude" so that was pretty lean for me.
But as soon as I said fuck it and started pounding pasta and potatoes again that shit packed back on in a big hurry.
The trick is finding a sustainable weight that's relatively easy to maintain. And I'm back in that train now. Down almost 20 lbs.
Fucking 40 more to go!

I'm down like 55 from my heaviest and I've been able to get it off pretty well by drinking lots of water/seltzer and doing as much cardio as I can. I've been cutting out fast food for a little bit too and that seems to have helped some.

Long cardio sessions.
I'm trying to get back to a better routine. More frequent activities (6 mile runs at least 3 times a week). Drinking less frequently (3 or less times a week). More consistent meal routine. Just now getting to a more stable day to day so hopefully start feeling better physically in a few weeks and build from there.

Get a bike. Ride it a lot. Eat healthy food and don't drink a lot. Drink a lot of water.

I've only eaten fast food twice so far this year. I've been eating lunch at home, mostly, so healthier, smaller portions. That and no beer all month has me slimming down. I'm not quite motivated to start exercising, yet.

I hit vape too much but haven't smoked a cig in like 4 months. Trying to cut down on beers too, which has meant drinking more whiskey lol
Not sure if that's a great trade off but I don't drink a ton anyway.

Playing ball regularly has really helped with knee and foot pain that I've dealt with for a long time. Figured it was going to get worse and make it harder but it actually feels good. May actually start running (like full runs instead of just around the court). The basketball shoes I have now (shoutout Jayson Tatum) are much lighter than the ones I used to play in (eat a dick Kyrie)... also picked up some purely running/walking shoes and those are the most comfortable things I've even worn.

The lack of availability of fried chicken joints has been impactful for me. I don't do fast food burgers (or frozen pizzas) because they're too damn salty. I don't drink soda. I don't drink hella beer regularly anymore. Filet o Fish if I hit McDonalds. The have wings that are stupid good but you only get 3 in an order so that helps... and maaaaaybe a can of Peroni beer to go with it. Ordering a beer at a drive thru is 😎
