I can’t blame him for walking the bases loaded. It set up a force out at any base and gave him the lefty left matchup. I thought the mistake was bringing in Cortes. I hate bringing in SP for high pressure relief scenarios they aren’t used to dealing with. Cortes hasn’t pitched much lately either.

Honestly at the time my friends and I were furiously texting one another "what the fuck is Boone doing??"
All of the stats that have come out since completely support what every even casual fan knew - Freddie's a fucking beast in those situations.
And why Nestor?? Hill had pitched great this postseason. It was an absurd move by Boone.

It's the world series push him.
It's always kind of exciting when they do crazy pitching in the WS like putting in starters for closers. It makes a good story but always seems to backfire
