Oh man... discogs could become a problem. I bought Man Man - Rabbit Habits last night. I had one in my Amazon cart, but it sold. I'm glad it did because I paid half as much. I love this album and they pressed it on 2 LPs. It's still sealed and shipping from France. I wasn't going to mention it until I had it in my possession, but I'm pretty excited to hear it! Rabbit Habits is a great album! |

Last night's haul was...
Neil Young - On the Beach (it's old, original?) Sounds pretty good, but the sleave is not in great shape and the vinyl has a lot of use and couple white scuffs. $25
Patti Smith Group - Easter (original 1978 pressing) This album came up on my radar, so I felt like I should buy it when I saw he had it. It has that infamous track, but I'm digging it. Vinyl is in pretty good shape. $15
Litte Feat - Feets Don't Fail Me Now (looks original) This one actually sounds the best sonically and it was ony $5. The vinyl is damn near perfect.

NY On the Beach has the floral pattern inside the sleave and has the right numbers. Neat. I'll check the etching on the vinyl later.

I finally chased down the Brighter Than Creations Dark down. I'm pretty disappointed with the pops on this one. Both discs are noisy, but the second one is pretty bad. It's a consistent pop throughout on both sides and I'm afraid it's a pressing defect. Has no one else every experienced this with a brand new vinyl? I'm reading how brand new vinyl can be pretty dirty from the manufacturing process. I think I'll just invest in a cleaning machine. *And anti static sleeves. Okay. I've listened to the first disc a few times and it's not as bas as I originally thought. It is still a little noisy, but not bad. The second disc is definitely flawed, but I'm still hoping a good cleaning might help. I doubt it, as it makes a double pop all the way through both sides in the same spots. Oh well. The first pressing is not pricey and I'll probably grab one at some point. I will say that when comparing the vinyl to the cd that the vinyl still sounds warmer and more open. The hunt continues. |

I ordered a super hifi mono remaster of Sonny Rollins' Saxophone Collossus and a new cartridge. Both should get here today, I'm anticipating excellent sound.
