I wonder if these two articles are related... Bacteria resistant to ALL antibiotics have arrived in Europe, and experts fear it could be the start of a global epidemic of untreatable infections. Last month, we reported on a gene mutation called MCR-1 that had shown up in bacteria in China. The mutation is resistant to all antibiotics, including colistin, a last-resort drug used to tackle tough bacteria when all other antibiotics have failed. myscienceacademy.org/2015/12/09/bacteria-resistant-to-all-drugs-shows-up-in-denmark/

The world is slowly boycotting America in General, at least food wise.
Almond milk is the fucking shit. Buy it unsweetened.

bacteria and germs are constantly evolving if it wasn't such a gross subject I would be way more interested in it.
In other news, gonna make some vegan chili tomorrow

Not really pig flavored but both chicken of the woods and hen of the woods mushrooms taste extremely good and alot like chicken.
I myself am not vegan but my family eat good enough we could remove meat easily. Tried to give up all refined and processed anything. It works in phase, much like my willpower.

"I'll take the poo-poo burger, please." "It is all we have, sir." The routine use of antibiotics in farming has contributed to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, so once-easy-to-treat infections are becoming more serious and even deadly. We put the bacteria we found through an additional round of testing to see whether they were resistant to antibiotics in the same classes that are commonly used to treat infections in people. Last, we compared the results of samples from conventionally raised beef with the sustainably raised beef to see whether there were differences in the presence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria between the products. The results were sobering. All 458 pounds of beef we examined contained bacteria that signified FECAL CONTAMINATION (enterococcus and/or nontoxin-producing E. coli), which can cause blood or urinary tract infections. Almost 20 percent contained C. perfringens, a bacteria that causes almost 1 million cases of food poisoning annually. Ten percent of the samples had a strain of S. aureus bacteria that can produce a toxin that can make you sick. That toxin can’t be destroyed—even with proper cooking. www.consumerreports.org/cro/food/how-safe-is-your-ground-beef

I saw that. Shrimp are one of my favorite foods. I don't eat shrimp often because really good shrimp, that aren't fished for like in the article, are very expensive, unless you live in coastal Florida or some place where they are caught fresh.

In today's news that surprised no one... "The substance, which is present in all dairy products, can trigger the brain’s opioid receptors which are linked to addiction. The authors also found that processed foods were more associated with addictive behaviour, with fatty foods being the most difficult to put down." I feel like one of the most common things I hear from people is "I could give up meat, but I could NEVER give up cheese." I agree with the processed foods...that's next on my list of stuff to cut out. www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/food-drink/cheese-triggers-the-same-part-of-brain-as-hard-drugs-study-finds-a6707011.html
