crime rates have been rising considerably in a lot of areas because police have been having less of a presence. Baltimore is an example of this.

I've seen the reports on the news. The same news that you were say is making everything look worse than it is. You can't have it both ways.
Media Propaganda Lies.

You guys really think the police are keeping you safe? The police are more likely to hurt you than help you even if you call them yourself, it's their job. They're just doing their job...

The mayor in the town where this happened has admitted that his police department is corrupt.

This is like saying we shouldnt have any government, environmental standards, laws whatever
yeah its all flawed, always will be, a perpetual work in progress. To go the extreme you are going by claiming the better alternative is none is just you getting all high horse worked up and stupid.
It has absolutely no merit so just stop ranting about it. I mean seriously, if there werent police a gang of lawless thugs will have already raped and pillaged you and your family and you would be left with nothing if your wernt dead
this is another instance where the case of more transparent police activity and revamped procedures is being made. Not derp lets get rid of all the police

If you believe that police are generally good people than you would have to believe that generally people are good and we don't need police. The reality is that the majority of people are bad and that same majority of police are bad.
I believe that without cops we would be just fine. Sure bad stuff would happen but bad stuff happens with cops around so they are not stopping anything.
This is my opinion^ based on my experience that I have only had harm come to me from officers of the law, I cannot think of a single instance where I have been helped by a cop. A cops job is to arrest people not help them.

There was this one day in high school where one of the teachers died in her room. I was at lunch at the time along with half the school so nobody knew what was going on when all of a sudden every single teacher left the cafeteria, but what happened was an immediate food fight which we all later regretted.
You guys that think having no police at all will not cause chaos are either giving people a heck of a lot more credit than they deserve or not honestly playing it out in your mind. People would be running wild

The corruption of police also has a lot to do with the system. Even a good person can do bad things if there job tells them to do it.
The systems design is moving away from its original goal of helping individuals. We are moving to a system that is more designed around profits and control.
