I'm waiting to see which of you guys is right on whether or not the Liquor Authority will be regulating/controlling everything. I'm pretty sure I'm right an there is not much reason to assume otherwise. It's already the word liquor stores are preparing. In Oregon the OLCC controls it, and thats why medical and anybody mid to small legally got pushed out. Once that happens the government controlled marijuana cartel uses revenues to hire task forces using the state to help uphold monopolies by destroying as many non liscenced farms as possible. After all it's those individuals growing small amounts of plants ruining the market, not multi million dollar carpet bagging investors growing 15,000 plants on Giants plots legally .. what q fucking joke You're not. Cannabis Board.

Cuomo says no can grow? Well that sucks. This is like saying tomatoes are legal, but you can't plant any in your garden. Sounds like they're going the dispensary route. I'm sure a lot of people won't care because they don't want to grow, are too busy to grow, or think they don't know how to grow. They'll be fine buying it at a brick and mortar store. Good for them if it works for them and legalization keeps them from worrying about Johnny Law. In addition to the people/companies supplying the weed to the stores, I could see this also being beneficial to the black market. Black market dealers may lose customers to the legal stores, but if the legal stores wind up selling bunk or their pricing is unreasonable, they may instead gain customers (some new to the market) who will eventually start looking for better quality/price. Prohibitions against growing also can help the black market because there will be customers who would have tried growing but instead will not take the risk and will keep buying from their black market guy. People illegally growing will keep illegally growing. They're probably happy that even if the supply of mass-market weed increases, the supply for quality homegrown will likely remain the same instead of increasing. The losers are the people who want to grow for personal use so as to save money, have control over qualtity, or just not want to have to deal with the black market. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a first step and over the next few years the law is either changed from within the legislature to allow growing or because of a grassroots effort. I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of looking the other way if you want to have a few trees. The penalty was lowered to a fine.

SV, what kind of marijuana legislation would make you happy?
Have you even considered any of this from an outside perspective? From the perspective of the person who, for whatever reasons, doesn't want to or can't involve themselves in the black market or illegal activity (like people on parole, for instance)? From the perspective of an elderly person who maybe wants to try cannabis for the first time in their live for it's healing properties but is totally square and wouldn't know where to find it so is happy to be able to buy it at a dispensary?
Could you imagine the mafia constantly complaining because of prohibition laws and other laws that create a demand and a market for them?
You seem to complain about everything being a scam. It's a scam if it's totally legal, partly legal, or completely illegal. You're all over the place with your opinions, but you'll surely find the bad in anything. One minute you're going on and on and on about scam, scam, scam, and the next you're making claims that you can retire in a year. If that's true, why so pissed off about something that's making it possible for you to earn a living? Is it that you just aren't happy unless you're unhappy and complaining?

You said it looked good. Pretty much a lie. Thought you new the difference. Legal weed had the option to be good for the common persons economy. Coorperate fucks and those who actually support them can suck me balls. What I saw said you can have a few trees without consequences. Don't call me a liar, you fucking wook. Quit acting like you know shit when clearly you do not. Any consequence for a plant someone else can legally posses and grow is fucked. I will call it as I see it. www.timesunion.com/news/article/Here-s-what-Cuomo-has-in-mind-for-legal-pot-in-13535647.phpSays no home grows except for medical. Nothing about any trees. Liar. Funny thing is you knew it a weeks ago and could have alerted local people to at least attempt to protest or stop it. You sir are of no good use to the most useful plant on earth. Hope you understand that.

Ever hear of CAMP? It's before your time, and certainly before you ever made it out West. The feds and the states have been eradicating marijuana grows and prosecuting growers for a long ass time. Do you really think that 'state/fed run task forces that destroy as many marijuana farms as possible' is something that's only come about since legalization and only has ever existed to protect monopolies? You're getting all upset because business does what business does. They invest money with the goal of making a profit. They have lobbyists working for them who influence the lawmakers. It's the same in every business. Is it fair? Not really, but it's how it is and how it has been. A smart person, a pirate, will find a way to work with, through, or around the system in order to make a go of it for themselves. Prohibition and illegality create opportunities. I never heard old school growers from back in the days when ALL of this was illegal complain, complain, complain as much as you do. When you play the game you can't expect all the rules to written in a way that favors you. You create opportunity out of the fact that the rules are written against you. Stop being so soft and such a whiner. Those old growers and black marketeers were anything but, and that was when the game was a lot different and more dangerous. And try to have compassion for people who will benefit from this - even if you don't personally agree with the laws/system and hate that business are the ones who will profit. Or just move to someplace that isn't a capitalist system.

Legalization = more access for everyone involved
Even with the proposed NY law, chances of getting caught growing a plant or 2 are very slim. Just my opinion.
I mean do you guys believe they'll have cops going door to door looking for weed plants. Very unlikely.
