Freedumb, did you see the Netflix doc on Keith Richards? I had no idea he and Tom Waits were such good friends. Sorry to Tom Waits up the thread, but I know if i start one specifically on him. no one will go in it |

i saw dylan open for the dead a while ago.. moe. was supposed to play but big storm messed up rigging and didnt get fixed in time.
out at the joliet speedway.
Dylan came on stage with the dead for Senor. that was badd ass. dylans show was fun

Is it? While it can be argued that Bob Dylan is a better songwriter than Neil, I think the majority of music fans would agree that other musicians tend to do Dylan songs better than Dylan. Off course there are some exceptions but I think, for the most part, some of Dylans best songs are better performed by other great musicians. |

I just felt that certain bands gave his songs more life than he did. There are Dylan songs I love, though, that I wouldn't want to hear anyone else sing but him, Hurricane being one of those songs. |

I like Bob's version of Bob songs best, myself.
Its funny because it comes up with friends how I only like NY songs when other people cover them. Like I dig the songs themselves, but I don't really enjoy NY's voice or just overall whatever. I'm not saying NY is bad, his style just doesn't click with me.

There are some that are no doubters where I prefer Dylan but Jerry sings with the soul/emotion that I often feel Dylan is lacking (you can also understand Jerry). Somehow Bobby also always remembers and slays the lyrics to Desolation Row and When I Paint My Masterpiece.

Dylan's music gets covered and sounds good no matter who covers it. Neil's music sounds great not covered and left alone.
