I like when The Byrds cover Dylan.

I heard Jerry do Tangled Up in Blue and almost cried it was so good.
But NOBODY can do Hurricane better than Bob and nobody should try.
And his Watchtower at Woodstock 94 was sick.

Completely disagree with that, but I welcome different opinions….even if they are wrong. 🤪 I prefer the Dead doing Bob over Bob doing Bob. There is no argument that he is a phenomenal songwriter. I just felt that certain bands gave his songs more life than he did. There are Dylan songs I love, though, that I wouldn't want to hear anyone else sing but him, Hurricane being one of those songs. Understood, and honestly, I am not a big covers person in general. Mostly what covers do is remind me how awesome the original artist is and makes me want to listen to that artist and I assume that is usually a large part of the reason a band is performing the cover. That isn’t to say I can’t enjoy a cover or find some brilliance in how he or she or an band interprets a song but for me personally, I rarely find myself thinking a cover is better. Besides, the term “better” when it comes to music is in itself problematic. 🇺🇸

I wish there were an "I love them both equally" option.

I'm a big fan of Jerry's Seńor. I just went and listened, now I have another to add to the rotation from that album. Also a big fan of that Dear Prudence. The thumpy bass part at the beginning sticks with me. …. Side note, when I first typed that I hit Fear Prudence. Now I need an alternative Halloween version where we are all afraid of Prudence because she has come out to play.

It makes you wanna freaky-deaky, right?
