Bob Dylan. Neil Young's voice isn't that appealing to me.

Neil was the first adult music that I ever go into. My brother played me the After The Goldrush album when I was 5 and I immediately got into it. Looking back now I realize I was a little obsessed, and abnormal focused on only listening to neil Young from the time I was 5 until I got into the Grateful Dead when I was 15 but that Aspergers for ya.

Impossible for me to answer. Both have put out vital music, both have put out utter crap. Interestingly enough, their careers seem to parallel each others as far as peaks and valleys. The eighties weren't that kind to either, but around '89 they both started turning it around.

I love them both as songwriters. As singers, not so much.

Bobby D gets a slight edge. Both dudes are creative powerhouses that have huge bodies of work.
Neil is better live but Dylan's best work is untouchable. Young's best work is not. IMO

Are we comparing 'Blonde on Blonde,' 'Hwy. 61,' and 'Blood on the Tracks' to 'On The Beach' and 'Rust Never Sleeps,' or 'Empire Burlesque' and 'Knocked Out Loaded' to 'Trans' and 'Landing On Water?'

Did somebody say Brian Adams? If you picture this as a Brent, Grateful Dead song it's not entirely awful.

I've never seen Neil Young live and have always wanted to. I have seen Bob Dylan live a handful of times and my favorite time he didn't play guitar at all as he was on an organ the whole time and played a lot of Grateful Dead dongs that I love. Having said that I choose Neil Young.
Has anyone read Neil Youngs book Wage Heavy Peace? Some great stories within
