I'm not sure if it came out on jambase but I recently got some info on Jeff's end. Apparently he got another dui and was looking at losing all rights to his daughter. I can't remember all the details but he was in a bad place with the alcohol already and that event put him over the edge.

This thread is a bummer.. Supposedly, yonder is playing hookahville in the spring.. I remember seeing Jeff at a few hookahville's...They were billed quite often. I don't intend on going to hookahville... Yonder being there certainly doesn't impress me.

Okay... So... I was never a huge yonder fan. Admittedly, I was in the camp that found them, Jeff mostly, somewhat annoying on stage. I know, I know... Then I saw Jeff with his band at John Hartford on the legendary stage at the Bill Monroe Music Park and it just clicked. I got it. Jeff poured his heart and soul and every ounce of his being into playing on stage. He truly loved it. That was my one time seeing Jeff without yonder and I'll always treasure that memory.
So... when I hear Ben say Nick is going to sing an old time yonder song and new mando ken doll precedes to sing Half Moon Rising, it just makes me sick. You wanted to part ways with Jeff? Fine. You wanted to continue on as ymsb? Fine. Don't have some replacement sing Jeff's songs. It's a fucking travesty.

Yonder was always kind of polarizing to me. Awesome or boring. My friend booked his band after the breakup at our little family festival and they killed it. Fist pumping, stomping in the mud, fucking killed it. One of those blurry memories I'll never forget. RIP Jeff
