You could have done some stumping, campaigning, or grassroots organizing.

Some of us also have lives down the road to think about too Totally - end of the day tho things are what they are. He was in office for 4 years and my point i suppose is there wasnβt a thing I could do about it while he was there Youβre right. There wasnβt much to do while he was in office. But itβs not crazy to be relieved when someone you fundamentally and morally disagree with, who fanned the flames of white supremacy and bigotry and caused an insurrection is finally out of office.

Oh for sure I totally get that and Iβm on that boat and I hope this country can heal in the best it can - my original comment tho wasnt about post trump - more so someone saying they had basically 4 years of anxiety as a result of him being in office. Trump sucks; but I suppose Iβll just chalk it off as Iβm glad and blessed him being in office still didnβt change my life.

My brother's Trump support was almost 100% financially based. "I have more money now than I did before and that's really all I care about." That was it. He's kind and generous to people in his immediate circle but gives ZERO fucks about people he doesn't see or know.
Trump tapped into that very significant segment of the American population.

I have empathy for all of that - Iβd just be a mess and would have no energy to even care if it gave me constant melting anxiety. Does not mean I do not care by a long shot.

Even after the $600 checks, Ossof, Warnock, and Biden all raged about "$2000" checks. I never heard a word from any of them during that runoff about $1,400 added to the 6, not one word.

The democrats have the house, senate, and presidency. If they don't get some meaningful legislation through during this time, it's because they don't want it. The ball is squarely in your court dems

The ball is squarely in your court dems they still need some repubs to vote yes on legislation don't they?Β If you ask them, yes, but the dems' simple majority they have now is enough to do anything they want as long as everyone is on board. Predictably as soon as the dems get in power they immediately start talking about bipartisanship, unity, and some other bullshit about reaching across the aisle. The is where my cynicism creeps it but I think this is intentional so that there will be excuses not to do anything. Im hoping for the best folks but...

I thought they could make rules and get the nominees through, but legislation needs like 61? no? im not saying im right that's just what I thought.

Senate needs 60 votes to pass legislation. Bipartisan support is going to be needed for anything meaningful.
