She is a political pawn, but what American in their right mind would try and get thc carts into a country like Russia. I'm sure the situation would be different for her if she was illegally detained, but she would have been fine if she hadn't dabbled in smuggling drugs across a Russian border. |

And way to go on castigating evil Putin on Ukraine while fist bumping those responsible for the atrocities in Yemen and the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. Oh, and caving to Manchin and giving up on climate change legislation, that too. Great way to motivate what should be your base. Guess you can always hope Trump declares he's running in '24 and keep playing that same old scary tune. Convenient way to keep doing the bidding of those big corporate interests without looking so obvious about it.

I did like his reading of "Repeat the line." He put a little something on it and if it weren't for the context it would've sounded like a natural part of his remarks.
There was a NYT story the other day about how there's concern in the White House over Joe's advancing age, physical and mental facilities. Shuffles when he walks and staffers fear he'll trip over a wire. Not exactly left leaning, but the NYT certainly ain't a conservative rag out to get Brandon.

WaPo’s Paul Kane has a sharp analysis piece: “For a full year Democrats have tried to divine what Sen. Joe Manchin III would say yes to, beginning with private huddles last fall at the White House to more recent Zooms with Senate Majority Leader CHARLES E. SCHUMER (D-N.Y.).
“They seem to have all made the same mistake: Hearing the nice tones that the West Virginia Democrat said in their private meetings, while dismissing his pessimistic comments in public as standard negotiating ploys.
“Instead, Manchin is the odd politician whose public pronouncements, whether in brief Capitol hallway interviews or in detailed prepared statements, carry more weight than whatever he tells his colleagues in private.”
