That veggie on the left is fennel. It doesn't taste like fennel seed, but rather it's like a sweet onion with a hint of licorice (and should be cooked to eliminate any harsh bitterness)

Raw fennel shaved super thin is great as a little salad
I make this pickled shrimp recipe in the summer with fennel. So fuxking good. Itβs from Edmunds Oast

Sliced fennel and bell peppers. good pitted olives and large butter beans in a baking pan. bunch of olive oil. Bone in chicken on top. bake it and put a bunch of dried oregano on the chicken skin once its cooked. I could be more descriptive but you get the point. Salt and other things etc.
