My wife and in-laws put ketchup on pasta dishes. I tell her that my inner Italian cries everytime I see it.

My wife is addicted to Korean television shows. The latest one she just finished is called 'Vincenzo.' I only watched bits and pieces, but far as I can tell it's about this Korean lawyer who was orphaned and then adopted by an Italian family. He winds up joining the mafia and becomes the head of the family. So now my wife is using some mob terminology, speaking with an Italian accent, and talking with her hands.

I like the waiter who tries to shut that shit down. I've seen places on Food Network where they absolutely will not sell you a steak cooked beyond medium, if you argue it, they just tell you to leave. We ate at a place on Friday where it had a doneness meter for steak that ran from rare -bloody red center to well done -order the chicken.

I knew a guy who owned one of the top ranked restaurants in Costa Rica who refused to fulfill requests for condiments. I saw someone ask the waiter for ketchup and when the waiter said he couldn't bring it the customer asked to speak to the manager, so the owner comes out and says something like 'that dish isn't meant to be served with ketchup,' and refused to serve it in any way but as intended. He didn't care if they like it or not.

My ex brother in law would go to a steak house and order a filet butterflied and cooked well done.
He was nightmare to go out to eat with.

Spinach, mushroom, and cheese dumplings Ghoulash White sausage, sweet mustard, and bretzl Mixed grill. Steak, sausage, turkey breast, speck and veggies and some firemost herb butter Algund, Northern Italy. Here all the signs are in German and Italian and clearly the cultural exchange is present in the cuisine.
