I like Dylan Groenewagen. Everyone hated him when he almost killed Fabio Jakobsen at the tour of Poland. The fact that either of them returned to racing after that is commendable.

I kinda wish I could have watched this race live. The white roads of Tuscany usually deliver an exciting race. This YouTube channel is hands down the best road cycling analysis there is.

XC skied a lot in high school, I got to go to the American Birkebeiner, 3 or four times because my dad worked for a sponsor. It was a World Cup event and his company sponsored a sprint race for elite racers before the big race. Those guys were insane fast and wanted to win for the extra $.
I still have my skate skis but very little opportunity to use them.

1200 ft of elevation in 6.25 miles on xc skis is fucking insane. That kind of elevation gain probably happens quite often with Backcountry skiing, but it's a combination of strapping the skis on your back and putting skins on. 1200' seems on the low side for sumitting some of the mountains around here that are popular for back country skiing. |

Yeah. We're not talking about hiking in the backcountry. That's why it's crazy. I just looked up a trail I did xc country skiing on at Eldora and it was 2 miles with 500' of elevation and I don't remember it being very difficult. It wore me out but I'm not Olympic level either. So I'm still not impressed by 1200' over 6 miles. |
