Yesterday was the anniversary of Sir Robin Knox Johnston finishing the first solo non stop circumnavigation in 1969. He's still sailing the boat. How's your boat coming along? |

It's currently stalled due to lack of funds and transportation but I'm sort of close to finishing the hull construction and then I need to build mast, rudder, centerboard, paint it and get a sail. Still kinda a lot to do but time wise, I think I'm maybe half way there.

The Giro starts this weekend. I kinda think Remco is going win but Roglic might make it really close(or maybe win) as long as he doesn't crash. Anything could happen. Unfortunately it's not on peacock so will be probably watching YouTube highlights mostly.

What language is this? the first 2 words and last 2 words are names of cyclists. Giro = bike race in Italy. TdF = tour de france. those are the biggest two multi stage races in the world. dan- correct as needed. |

I've watched a fair amount of bike racing the past few years and I have to say it was pretty cool to hear the national Anthem and see two Americans on the podium in a world tour stage race.

Matteo Jorgenson just became the first American rider to win the Dwars door Vlaanderen in it's 79 year history. Dude is on fire so far this year.

Awful crash at the tour of the basque country. Some major riders with serious injuries. Pro cycling is definitely the most dangerous "traditional" sport. Pretty big bummer for the rest of the season. They might as well just hand all the trophies to Tadej now.

Once MvDP was gone, I was hoping Philipsen would get a puncture so Pedersen could get second. Incredible athletic achievements don't always make for entertaining racing.
