Baltimore area people... win a pair of tickets to see "guitar god" Zakk Wylde at Rams Head Live on Tues 8/2 at 8pm. Email ramsheadtix@gmail.com with WYLDE in the subject line and your name in the body of the email. They will notify the winner on Sat by 10am. Tix will be non-transferable, so only enter if you can personally make it. I entered this one, as I wouldn't mind seeing Zakk Wylde for free. My son might too and he probably has off work that day. But if not, maybe one of you could go with me.  TIP: If you're on the Rams Head Live email list, keep your eye out for the ones where the subject line ends with "+ Win Tickets!" I don't know if this is something new, but I just noticed it a while back (when I won the Taj Mahal tix), and now I keep seeing them. I doubt very many people are entering, so your chances may be pretty good. |

^ Holy shit, I won the Zakk Wylde tix!  I think that makes me either 2 for 2 or 2 for 3 now on these Rams Head Live email entry contests... told ya chances are probably pretty good! I need to ask a few people in my real life before I officially open the invitation here, but in the meantime you can let me know if there's even any interest. It's next Tues 8/2, doors at 7, show at 8, and I'd surely be running closer to 8. There are openers I've never heard of... Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, and Jared James Nichols. |

Well the boy just got home, and he turned me down on the Zakk Wylde invite, go figure. Says he's the one guitarist in that genre he doesn't really like.
There's a few more people I need to ask... stay tuned over the next few days...

Well my brother also turned me down on the Zakk Wylde concert... and he even digs Zakk and has off work that day (he took off Mon & Tues to work on the house)... but he has become a real partypooper about shows in his old age, just has no desire, can't deal with standing that long, doesn't want to travel, etc. I texted my FF last night and haven't gotten a reply yet, but he's probably a longshot for this kind of show anyway, lol. I have another concert buddy who could be interested, but I don't want to invite him til I hear back from FF. If he can't make it, then I'll open the invitation here... is anybody even interested? Amster? Toys? Who else is down around there?
One note: I don't have cell service at my Dad's place, where I'll be most the day, so I won't see replies from these people til this evening. The show is Tues night.

Ok, so who wants to see Zakk Wylde in Baltimore with me tonight? My FF says he can't do stuff like that on weekdays because he has to sleep before work (shift starts 2am), and my concert buddy already has plans, and I've been too busy to think about who else might be interested. I do have a girlfriend I may call today if I have time (gonna be a busy day), but she's a longshot, although her son could be into it (he's like a year older than my son). But whoever claims the ticket first gets it, so speak up now if you wanna go. Amster? I know I can Google this, but isn't Zakk Wylde one of Ozzy's former guitarists? I'd go just to hang out with Vik for a drink or three and do some people watching.

Yes, he replaced Randy Rhoads, I do believe. And there was Black Label Society. I don't know a whole lot else about him, not real familiar with his material, but I know he's considered a "guitar god" and I'm betting he puts on a great show.
BTW, the ticket is GONE! I'm picking up one of my old Bonamassa friends who lives about a half hour above Baltimore. This really is her type of thing and she's excited and ready for a night out. Will be cool to catch up too, it's been a while.
