Does Bernie have one more farewell tour in him?

She's running for president. Not a career politician and it sounds like she cares about people. I don't know that much about her but I'm interested. The mainstream media seems to be ignoring her and will probably start shitting on her if she rises in popularity. We'll see

Does Bernie have one more farewell tour in him? He says he won't run if Biden runs for re-election. It would be great if Biden did bail out for some reason but it sounds like he's going to try for 8 years

She's gone from 4% to 10% in some reliable polling

Mainstream media is on the Biden train and completely ignoring her. They don't want you to know there is someone running for president that wants to help the working class here in the usa

It really does look like the choices in 2024 will be even less inspiring than those rammed down everyone's throats in 2016.
I get the feeling that the majority of people can't handle and/or aren't interested in serious discussion of important issues. They'd rather be entertained, so someone like Williamson won't gain traction - not that the rules as drawn up by the two parties won't play an even larger part in that. Shouldn't be an issue, but I think her mid-Atlantic accent is going to be a turn off for a lot of people. I hope she stays in the race long enough to force Biden (or whoever it is should he not be able to run) to at least address concerns from progressives.
Mainstream politics are an intellectual black hole. Many of the topics people debate in mainstream politics are deeply important to making the world a better place, but the actual debates themselves are more performative than transformative. Even Williamson looks like she's performing and loves the attention - though to be fair that's true of all politicians. Sadly, politics has devolved to the level of pro wrestling. All the manufactured drama and performance, but without any of the self-awareness that it's all just a show.

I'm not thrilled with Biden's age but I voted for him and more than likely will again.
I'm curious as to why you guys are so unhappy with his presidency, other than him being old.

Simply being old might be enough to do Biden in. His age is at a point where things could start declining rapidly and at any minute. Think of Dianne Feinstein. She's currently only a few years older than Biden would be at the end of his second term. And a Senator can stay domestic and take it easy while other Senators do the heavy lifting - a President has to jet all over the world and be fully there 24/7/365 for any number of crazy situations that will pop up. Not unreasonable to think that a lot of people are going to take that into consideration. People are going to look at their father or grandpa or great-grandpa whose around that age and spends most of his time in the LazyBoy, and I don't think most people would want them to be leader of the free world, commander in chief, etc.
His age also gives the GOP the unnecessary gift of an easy target to run against. Trump's old too, but his base don't care. And if Harris' favorability numbers poll worse than Biden's, the GOP is going to campaign against a potential 'President Harris' as much as they are going to go after Biden. I have no idea if Harris is capable of doing the job or not, but I know she's not really all that popular. The GOP will dovetail Biden's age with Harris' lack of popularity.
If Biden/Harris lose in '24 there'll be all sorts of Monday AM quarterbacking about how they were a terrible ticket with all sorts of disadvantages that the GOP easily exploited. They're going to say they could've run just about anyone half-way competent and won against Trump or DeSantis, but they went with a candidate as weak as an 85 year old man with an unpopular running mate who no one really wanted to see as being a heartbeat away from the Presidency. And they wouldn't be wrong as far as how they got beat.
The best thing Biden/Harris has going for them is they aren't Trump/whoever. Lot of people would vote for Biden if he were in a coma instead of Trump. But a lot of people would vote for Trump if he were incarcerated over Biden.
And let's not, let's not forget 'old people smell.'

This election is about keeping Trump nowhere near the White House again. I hate to be that guy but people need to save the Williamson/third party/sitting this election out kind of stuff for ‘28 when surely Trump is no longer an option. A vote for her is just making it easier for that guy to get in and while I personally think DeSantis is an asshole and who knows exactly what and all that lurks inside him, Trump is just plain dangerous to hand the White House back to. Flat out dangerous, but we all know that. In short, Biden or bust for me.

Marianne is running in the democratic primary and imo has a better chance of beating trump than Biden. Aside from Biden not fighting for hardly anything he ran on, he really is bumbling around and doesn't seem seem to be trending in a positive direction cognitively. Marianne actully stands for things that the people want and hasn't spent her life getting churned in the political machine. She is the best available option for the next election.

If'n ya don't live in what's considered a swing state, does your vote for President really matter all that much anyway? If I lived in California, NY, Wyoming, Alabama, or any other of those consistently red or blue states I'd most likely vote Green. But if I lived in Arizona, Pennsylvania, or any other swing state I'd be less inclined to do so. Best case scenario: Trump doesn't get nominated; pissed off, he runs under MAGA Party banner, splits GOP vote. Vote with your heart in the primary, vote with your head in the general.
