The hip drop tackle rule is going to make the game near unwatchable with the extra penalties, reviews, challenges, etc. I feel like this rule is going to be like holding and PI, you could call it on almost any play depending on how you interpret the tackle.

I feel like those sentiments have been shared for every rule change that has been brought to the game in the last decade plus. Just like any other rule change it will be a mess the first few weeks of the season and may even decide the outcome of a game or 2 and then it will be figured out and won't be much of a problem. I understand the teams wanting to protect their best players from getting injured.

I understand the reason for the rule, but it's just another wildly subjective rule for everyone to huddle about and slow the game by another 5%.

Each game just needs a sky judge to make a ruling or overrule a call if needed.

i'll remain optimistic that the hip-drop rule won't ruin the game. but the moment the chiefs win a close game in the 4th quarter on some subjective bullshit penalty because of it, i'm out on it...

also though, the video they showed teams for what would be deemed illegal this season is hilarious. the only egregious play in the whole video was the hit on Geno because he was already out of bounds, which is already a rule. the rest of these plays are just guys playing football.

Tackle Derrick Henry with a full head of steam, but you're only allowed to use your hands.

To me, it looks like they aren't allowed to tackle anymore

Copy and pasta
The rule requires officials to note two actions: If a defender "grabs the runner with both hands or wraps the runner with both arms" and also "unweights himself by swiveling and dropping his hips and/or lower body, landing on and trapping the runner's leg(s) at or below the knee."
On Monday, McKay clarified that Monday's rule change doesn't eliminate the hip-drop tackle -- only the "swivel technique that doesn't get used very often."

Yeah I would say this is a good trade for the Bills. Diggs has been a diva and lock room cancer for years and I don't believe he has done enough to put him in the 1A receiver category. I bet you could easily find 10 receivers in the league who are better. I give it to week 4 until he is complaining that he's not getting the ball enough in Houston. Stroud already has an established relationship with 2 of his receivers, I don't think Diggs production is going to go up and by the end of next season he will be trashing the team, regardless of their success.

houston certainly trying to maximize Stroud's rookie QB contract. not sure they needed another WR, but depth never hurts...collins, TANK, and diggs is a hell of a WR room.

Tank and Stroud lit the Bengals up this past season.

I wouldnt want his cry baby ass on my team. The Bills went 6 -1 down the stretch and Diggs contributed next to nothing. His efforts were greatly appreciated but he's lost a step or two. And he dropped that fucking ball. Adios and good luck.
